Today we re-opened after our now traditional two week period of closure following a busy Christmas in 2010. We have an exciting new menu for all our Corner 5 Restaurant customers to enjoy. As soon as Head Chef, Sean Hazlett has finished pondering and deliberating over all the ingredients and is happy with all aspects of the dishes we will post the new menu on the website for all our regular diners to peruse. However, in the meantime and if you can't make it to the restaurant for a little while we can give you a sneeky insight into some of the menu highlights.
Amongst our new starters we have an intriguing twist on the traditional English Breakfast with pork and leek sausage, crispy smoked streaky bacon, toasted garlic crostini and griddled black pudding finished with a soft poached quail's egg and homemade tomato ketchup. Main course highlights include Rump of Venison served perfectly pink with a silky rich roast vegetable and stout sauce. Pasta lovers can also look forward to the fresh egg linguine packed full of delicious seafood - prawns, mussels, scallops - jazzed up with lemon, coriander and spicy paprika chorizo.
Finally, borne out of years of training, culinary skill and a touch of experimentation our talented Chefs have devised an exciting new dessert that surely everyone must try...'Hot & Crispy Ice Cream'. How can ice cream be hot? you may be wondering. Well, our Chefs have delicately wrapped luxurious Movenpick ice cream in crispy golden filo pastry, tossed it in cinnamon sugar and served it with hot fudge sauce and delicious winter berries.
